As the sun peeps over Straddie, through the trees, and the sky and water light up with warm colours; the well-known stump is silhouetted in high contrast against the calm waters of Moreton Bay.

This is the fourth in a series of eight landscapes looking at Macleay and Karragarra Islands and how they look at each other.  The water is important to everyone who lives on these islands.  Many barges, and ferries come and go each day, but the early morning is the most beautiful and inspires my art.
