It turns out a good friend of mine owns three of the boats in this painting. I was walking along Sandpiper Beach, and I looked towards Coochiemudlo Island – the layers of cloud were amazing. There was a front coming. After showing the painting to a friend, I found out that three of the boats belonged to him. The dingy on the beach, and the two Jubilees – two boats with covers, on the right – belong to him. They are regularly raced at the Tingira Boat Club.
